Mission
The Netherlands Social Service Organization (nesso) is a non-profit corporation in California, formed in 1963 under the auspices of the Consul-General of the Netherlands in Los Angeles.
The primary purpose of the nesso is to render help by providing voluntary aid and assistance, financial and otherwise, to deserving and needy persons of present or former Dutch nationality and their families.
Assistance is provided on a temporary basis to people who experience unexpected financial difficulties due to illness, accident or family problems and who do not receive adequate benefits under the California welfare system.
